Murat Sarayli chaired YES, the Brussells based European Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs, during 2005-2006-2007, representing 40.000 members from sixteen countries. Assuming responsibilities at YES in November 2004, Mr. Sarayli made the Lisbon Agenda, Europe’s strategic plan towards greater
economic growth and job creation, the hallmark of his tenure. In addition, he pledged his commitment to raising the voice and profile of small businesses and young entrepreneurs in policy circles, the media and the public at large.

During 2004-2008 he served as National Chairman of the Young Businessmen Association of Turkey (TUGIAD), worked on issues pertaining to entrepreneurship, technological and social innovation and education. He is the co-founder of Visa-Free Europe movement , he also currently serves on the board of International Competitiveness Research Institute of Turkey (URAK ) and on the board of the Energy Efficiency Association of Turkey .

Mr. Sarayli has been named as Young Global Leader ( YGL ) by World Economic Forum in 2006 to be an acitive member of the YGL Forum for five years. During April 2008 he attended to the ‘‘ Global Leadership and
Public Policy for the 21.st Century ’’ program at Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government, designed solely for the active members of the YGL Forum. He has also been active in his family-owned group of companies since 1989 and currently serves as Vice President of the group which is active in Energy, electricity trade, international commodity trade, tourism, construction, real estate development.
A graduate in management of the Middle East Technical University, Mr. Sarayli lives in Ankara with his wife and two children.
